The Story

Mount Vernon, NY, a small but densely-packed city nestled along the Bronx, New York City border, has consistently produced basketball legends for generations. The city’s sole public high school,, is ranked 5th in the country for its turn-out of NBA players. However, what differentiates MVHS from the top four is that the school can not recruit its players. All of its talent comes this small city, of only four-square miles of area. From humble and organic beginnings, a system has been set in this small, urban city that develops and cultivates talent. This winning formula transcends basketball and touches the entire city. There is a deep sentiment of brotherhood, pride, and tradition that fosters the growth of these star athletes and paves the way for those who will come after them.
